USGBC Louisiana supports Entergy and the Entergy Solar Schools Initiative. Five K-12 Schools have solar energy systems that provide classrooms with streaming energy production data, giving these schools an amazing teaching tool. In this short workshop we will draw on published PV lesson plans to compile a quick reference handbook of solar PV lesson plans to help the ESSI schools integrate the solar systems into their classroom activities and assist in meeting state education standards.

USGBC Louisiana Solar Schools Workshop
Help Solar Schools use Solar PV as a Teaching Resource

Saturday January 7, 2017
10 am – Noon
9:30 Doors open

USGBC Louisiana is excited to continue supporting the Entergy Solar Schools Initiative.
This January we are organizing an effort to help Louisiana’s school faculty use New Orleans Solar School rooftop PV systems as a teaching resource. In this short workshop we will draw on published PV lesson plans to compile a quick reference handbook of solar PV lesson plans especially for teachers in Louisiana as they plan their classes to meet state education standards by grade and subject. It will be a snap with a good team on hand.

We’ll bring materials, seasonal refreshments, and music. You bring a few funny holiday stories and the USGBC Louisiana Green Schools Initiative Teachers’ Guide: Solar PV Edition (working title) will be a great beginning to 2017!
