The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, or IPCC’s ongoing reports reflect the growing evidence for a changing climate caused by human activity, and chart its risks, potential impacts, and possible options for prevention. They have been used to inform the Paris Agreement on climate change. Drawing on extensive research done for Governor of California Gavin Newsom, and presented in Boulder, Colorado, Andres Duany will discuss mitigation strategies in carbon reduction and sea level rise aversion, and in their relative success or failure, chart how might a city prepare to get ready, and how local adaptation may be increasingly required in the future.
Introduction by Charles Sutcliffe, Chief Resilience Officer, Governor's Office
