The Post-COVID Opportunity for Sustainable Transitions

Our recovery from the economic, social, and health shocks of COVID-19 present a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to rebuild cities and communities in a way that improves the quality of life for all residents, and improves our environmental outcomes. Not only can we maximize reinvestment dollars to create green jobs and accelerate GHG reduction goals, but we can also utilize targeted sustainability projects to address inequities and make our systems more resilient to future shocks. This presentation will show how communities around the world are using creative visioning to embrace a new normal in transportation, building science, and nature-based solutions, while rejecting old paradigms that no longer serve our collective needs.
