Announcing the winners of the 2018-2019 Green Schools Challenge
Elementary School Division
First Place -- Metairie Park Country Day School, Metairie
Second Place Tie – Belle Chasse Academy, Belle Chasse, and Mayfair Lab School, East Baton Rouge
The Green Schools Committee Certificates:
“Best New Elementary School to the Green Schools Challenge” to Metairie Academy for Advanced Studies, Metairie
“Best Whole School Engagement” to McKinney Byrd Academy, Shreveport
Middle School Division
First Place – Brookstown Middle School, Baton Rouge
Second Place – The Lab School at Southeastern University, Hammond
Third Place – Belle Chasse Academy, Belle Chasse
Honorable Mention Certificates – Lycée Français de la Nouvelle-Orleans and St. Paul’s Episcopal School, New Orleans, for tackling global climate change and urban water infrastructure, respectively, in their challenge projects.
High School Division
First Place – George Washington Carver High School, New Orleans
