Green Schools Initiatives
The U.S. Green Building Chapter of Louisiana is thrilled to launch our Green Schools Initiatives with the generous support of our long-standing sponsors Entergy. The Initiatives encourage K-12 schools across the state to implement projects that will make their schools and communities healthier places to live, learn, and grow.
The 2021-2022 initiatives include
- Fall Poster Contest
- Valentine’s Day #GreenSchoolSelfie Drawing
- Louisiana Green Schools Challenge (GSC)
The Green Schools Initiatives Guide contains an overview of these initiatives followed by detailed information about participating. Each of these initiatives is available to K-12 schools, students, clubs, and instructors at no cost. We look forward to your Green Schools submissions.

The Green Schools Challenge provides all schools with the following:

Teachers participating in the Challenge are given the opportunity to earn a Green Classroom Professional Certificate, with fees paid for by USGBC Louisiana.

If requested, USGBC Louisiana will provide mentors from our network of architects, engineers, and contractors to help schools implement successful projects.
